I am a doting mom of a wonderful young adult daughter. My employment experience has always been in the administrative field. However, my heart has always been in child care or any environment focused on aiding children/youth. Therefore, I have been an active volunteer in child care/educational environments since 1995. I am currently a volunteer advocate for neglected and abused children in the child welfare system. With that said, I am currently working towards a degree in Human Services that will allow me to fulfill my dreams of working with troubled youth.
In my spare time, I enjoy doing anything DESIGN, from Pinterest to HGTV, DIY projects, crafts you name it. I also enjoy a nice movie at home as well as live shows/theater. I am not much of a tv watcher, however I love music. I also spend a nice amount of time with my nieces, nephews, and great-nephews who range in ages 2 to 8 years old. I have always enjoyed being around young children as they help me to see what is right and possible in the world. I love their risk free take on life as well as their desire to learn. Seeing children at play is one of the most heartwarming things. It's something about watching them not have a care in the world that just really tugs at my heartstrings.
I am known to be very caring and compassionate when it comes to children. Yet, I am also firm when needed. I feel I have a good balance, but admittedly children win me over. :-) I am someone you can trust in your home as I am honest as well as reliable.
