  About Me

Hi there. My name is Caroline and I am looking for a nanny/babysitter position in the Chicago area. I received my Bachelors degree in Linguistics from Boston University where I focused on language acquisition and cognitive development. After I graduated, I spent a year working at child language labs at Harvard and at BU. I plan to someday go on to graduate school in either Cognitive Science of Developmental Psychology. In my free time I love to cook, especially with my friends and family. I also like to spend as much time outdoors as possible and enjoy both playing and listening to music (I play the clarinet and a little piano).

  Work Experience & Education Background

2 years experience, 3 references
Jan 2012 - April 2012. I was a nanny/mother's helper for approximately four months with a family that had a two year old child and a newborn baby. I helped with dinner, bath time, and bed time, usually with one of the parents. I also helped clean up around the house and with their small dog.

May 2012 - October 2012. I was a live-in nanny for 6 months for a family that had two children (ages five and eight). Every weekday, I would pick up the kids from school, cook dinner, oversee bath time, and help with homework. We occasionally did things around town - went to farmer's markets, school events, etc.

September 2012 - October 2012. I was a babysitter for a two year old child. For two hours each Tuesday I would prepare lunch and put him down for a nap while his parents worked.

Worked for four months as a nanny/mother's helper. My work with them ended because one of the parents was a professor at a local college, and they didn't need extra help during the summer months when they had more time at home.

Worked for six months as a live-in nanny. My work with them ended after I had to relocate due to my other job. I left after they were able to find a replacement nanny.
