  About Me

Hello. My name is Marie-Claire H. and I am originally from Chapel Hill, North Carolina but I attended the University of Louisville where I played collegiate field hockey and graduated with a B. S. in Sport Administration in 2008. I have coached college field hockey at Rutgers University along with being the current Assistant Field Hockey Coach for Robert Morris University. I also have worked in an independent Pre K-12 day school in Princeton, NJ as the Assistant to the Athletic Director. At that school, I worked in conjunction with the Lower, Middle and Upper Schools plus ran Summer Camps geared towards the Lower (Elementary) School aged children.

Personally, I am extremely active but I am also very exploratory in creative arts. I am fulfilling an Event Planning Internship at the Sweetwater Center for the Arts in Sewickley, PA which concludes this December 2012. I encourage children to lead healthy active lives in addition to appreciating the abundance of culture in the surrounding community, I believe that being balanced in both worlds adds to positive personal development. I love to paint, sing, craft, cook and play tons of games outside.

I was brought in to assist my good friend Olivia, Head RMU FH Coach, for the 2012 competition season. I have fallen in love with the surrounding Pittsburgh area and would like to stay. I have a great niche of friends in the RMU Family along with the Sewickley community.

I love children and I have been babysitting since I was in a freshman in high school - I am 26 years old. I have worked with newborns to high school age children and beyond, both boys and girls. Two years ago I was CPR certified which means I have one year left on my certification.

I believe that there are many similarities between coaching and parenting, granted I do not have any children of my own at this point, I have dealt with many issues ensuring the personal and academic well-being of my student-athletes. I would be happy to provide you with any professional and character contacts upon request.

Wishing all the best,

Marie-Claire H.

Luke Hensel
I worked with Luke for two years at Princeton Day School. I would also babysit his daughters, ages 2 and 5 at the time, in the summer and during the school year. I became very close with his family and he would be able to relay an honest opinion of how I am with multiple children in a household.
