  About Me

I am a graduate of Fairfield University (2008) and have been working in finance since then. I currently live between CT and NYC as I am pursuing a career in nursing going forward. I am a very active 27 year old and have played sports throughout my life and currently I am a runner. I nannied for a family in Westport CT during college for 2 years and have babysitting experience since I was in high school. I also have a 3 year old niece with whom I have played an active role in her life since she was born. I have gone to New Orleans (post Katrina) and Panama on outreach trips, both with a focus on children. Children hold a special place in my heart and I look forward to pursing a career in nursing to especially work with kids. In the meantime, I would love to be nanny, providing a positive influence on a child's life via guidance educationally and leading by example. I am very nurturing but understand the fine balance of tough love when needed.

My childcare experience has ranged from a 4 week old infant to teenagers. My childcare style depends on the age of the children. With babies I am very nurturing, but with older children I prefer to fill the role of a big sister and believe kids relate much more to someone in their life who they "look up to" and think of as an older sibling; creating a positive role model in a child's life. With that said, I am very outgoing, love to play sports (have had success nannying/babysitting for both boys and girls because of this. ), loving and consider an opportunity to work with kids as a gift.

Most of my experience with newborns has been with my niece and recently I have been working with a new mom and a 5 week old infant. The most challenged I have felt is the unexplained crying after all the babies needs are met. With that said, the most rewarding experience of working with newborns learning and adapting to their personalities while be able to comfort them. Watching them grow and develop into little people and having the opportunity to work with them is a gift.
