  About Me

I am moving to Pasadena California from Vermont to attend the City College there. As I am from Vermont I love and appreciate the outdoors with a passion that I love to share with children and enjoy going on outings for a picnic or just a walk. I am currently taking a class about dinosaurs and I LOVE all things space related and si-fi, which I believe most 3-10 year old children are interested in as well. In fact the children at the preschool I work at now have developed an obsession with my dinosaur text book and I feel bad to take it with me when I move but I hope to find new children to share it with.
Education and knowledge are by far the most important things to me in life which is why I love to work with children because they are the most thirsty for knowledge and creative group of people I can think of other than scientist themselves. I enjoy when kids ask why about everything and I always want to answer their questions or help them find the answers.
I have been working at a preschool for the past year with a group of 1 year old and helping out occasionally with the groups of older kids as well. I babysit families from the preschool as well, which I admittedly enjoy more because of the "one on one" (but really its me and two siblings) time I get to spend with the kids at their house and because we can leave to go on adventures around the city. My favorite is going to the botanical gardens and getting a frozen yogurt.
I thinking cooking with children is really important and I love to bake. Making a pizza and putting weird new things the kids think up is always a good time.
I hope to find a a happy family and some really nerdy children to spend my free time with.

  Work Experience & Education Background

1 years experience, 2 references
I have worked full time at a preschool for the past year. I am the aid to the head teacher of the one year old group, which may would not consider preschool age but my boss insist the whole school is a preschool including the one year old group. At my preschool we have a daily routine and we go on exciting adventures as often as we can using the University of Vermont which the preschool is located near frequently for its small botanical garden, free museum, and a long walking tunnel where the walls change color and they play music (it is very fun if you are one and just learned to walk).
I worked at another preschool last summer as a sub and camp counselor for one week for their circus camp.
I babysit for several families whose children go to the preschool I am working at currently. I walk a 4 year old and her 1 year old brother to school three times a week in the morning which is a lot of fun and is always filled with fun stories about the Millennium Falcon and wolverines.
