Hello.
My name is Chelsea M.. I am a 22-year-old recent college graduate seeking a position as a nanny for a New York family.
While my age may seem at first glance to be a bit of a deterrent for some families, my experience and maturity are those typically found in someone a good deal older. I have spent my summers since 2000 working at Kris' Camp, a therapy intensive camp geared toward children and young adults with autism and Aspergers. During that time I was responsible for children from ages ranging from under a year old up to 15 year olds, with a wide range of developmental or medical issues, as well as children without any medical conditions. I have been responsible for children in one on one environments as well as serving as a counselor for a larger group of children in an overnight, sleep-away camp setting.
In addition to my years of experience at Kris' Camp, I also spent a summer as a live-in nanny for two families (in a duplex) with three children. The children were Wyatt (6 mo. ), Clara (3 yrs. with a leukemia diagnosis; I was involved in taking her to the hospital for treatments), and Esme (6 yrs. ). I worked flexibly with both sets of parents to arrange when I would be in charge of the children, and will gladly provide the same flexibility for you.
Outside of these two longer, more structured experiences I have held a number of regular babysitting jobs and have always received fantastic reviews from all of my employers.
If you have any questions, would like references, or if there is anything else that I can tell you or provide for you, please let me know. I realize that selecting a person to care for your children can be a tricky, time consuming and stressful process, so I'd love to make it easier for you in any way that I can. |
