I am currently in college for my associate's degree (culinary school) in Cambridge. I have school until 1:40, so I am available to work starting around 3pm (possibly even 2:30). I have been involved with childcare since 2003 and love children. I like to help children grow into happy, polite, and independent little people. |

Work Experience & Education Background |

10 years experience, 5 references |
I started working in a daycare a few weeks after graduating High School in 2003. I assisted in the Infant Room for teachers' vacations and lunch breaks. I also assisted in the Pre-School Room for a year. I went to a college course in which I got my certification to teach and be lead teacher in my own classroom. I got placed in the Toddler Room, 40 hours per week with 9 Toddlers, along with my teachers assistant. I planned the curriculum in my classroom, constructed our monthly calendars/ newsletters, and cleaned the classroom. While at the daycare I became CPR and first aid certified and attended 24+ hours of workshops (planning to special needs). I have had the chance to work with children with special needs. (ADD, ADHD, Autism, hearing impaired, learning disabilities, and chromosomal disorders).
I have three younger brothers and cousins I was always in charge of, I changed my first diaper when I was about 6. My first "real" babysitting job in 8th grade for the chief of Police's son, which lasted a few years. I currently babysit for a couple of families whenever they need me.
I recently ended 4 1/2 amazing years with a family. Some of the fun things we've done include: going to (the): movies, outdoor& indoor parks, water spray parks, hiking, nature walks, museums, aquarium, play groups, cooking and baking classes, music classes, mini golf, and the beach. The children have had sleepovers at my home, where we got manicures and pedicures, out to dinner, and then watched a movie with popcorn. Our favorite things to do are: cook, bake paint, read, and have "Movie Monday" in which we chose a movie from the library & prepare a special snack that we made together. |
