  About Me

I am a 36-year-old wife and mother of one who has been living in Corporate America for far too long. My family and I are planning to relocate to the Columbus, Ohio area in the next few weeks, and it's my desire to take care of people rather than companies. I adore babies and hope to have another soon. My son, Adam, is already 7 years old and loves to play the role of big brother around other kids. I am a passionate reader, believe in the importance of healthy meals and snacks (Adam's lunch always includes yogurts and fresh veggies), and love finding teachable moments in every day matters. ("Mommy, why is it warm upstairs in the winter and cold downstairs?" Cue up the balloon-in-the-freezer experiment. ) My favorite things are books, gardening (my brown thumb gets greener every year as I learn), more books, coffee, and music.

I would adore the chance to spend my days contributing to something that matters - the care of a child - rather than guarding an Executive's calendar.

  Work Experience & Education Background

7 years experience, 3 references
My childcare work experience centers around the care of my own son, now 7, and my niece and nephew, ages 1 and 5. Please note that the experience I list to the questions below refer to these three children.

As I trade my business attire for kid-friendly clothing, I intend to focus on the critical nature of childcare and all it entails: from playing in the dirt in the Springtime to learning how to respect others. Children are endlessly curious, and I am incredibly fulfilled having spent an afternoon in the kitchen with my son (Adam), or bent over a gluey craft with him and his friends. Even struggling over rules and instructions, as taxing as that can be, brings reward. Something gets accomplished that impacts a kid more wonderfully than an executive's assignment could ever offer to.

I will cherish the days I get to exhaust my own imagination sharing long hours with children. I expect they'll teach me more than my college courses ever could.
