  About Me

Hi, my name is Rachel. I am 42yrs old and have no children. I however, love children and wanted to have my own. I have always had pets, dogs, cats, a bird, even 2 pet racoons for 12yrs, (not ideal pets though, they were orphaned). I like to read, love nature and the outdoors. I can spend hours at a zoo and never grow tired. I have an associates in biological science. I am highly creative and like to write poetry, stories, plays. I love the way children are eager to create(lending their acting abilities to my plays. ) Their minds never stop and are like endless gold mines of inspiration. I think children respond best when given valid explinations of things instead of the "because I said so" answer. I also think children should be kids for as long as possible. Kids today are exposed to too much too soon. Kids have always responded to me well, probably because their radar senses I myself am a kid at heart. I recently was laid-off from an office position I had. But truthfully, not heartbroken over it, just miss the paycheck and unemployment isn't much at all. Years ago I worked at the Center for Living in St Augustine, a facility for mentally challenged adults. I am using this oppurtunity to start a different career path. I have a mild temperament, well mannered (my mother raised me right-I dislike rudeness)and I am physically fit. I believe I would make a great nanny for any child.
