I am a student at Northeastern Illinois University. I have a very flexible schedule. I will be majoring in Elementary Education. I have always loved working with children. My whole childhood I was a part of my park district swim team. When I turned 15 I had the opportunity to coach. I coached the six and unders, the ages ranged from four to six year olds. The reason I thought I would enjoy this job is because I loved swimming but I also knew from past experiences babysitting that I really enjoyed working with children. After coaching that summer I realized how much I loved working with children and how much I enjoyed being able to get to know each child. This experience of coaching the six and unders inspired me to take a child development class my senior year of high school. I graduated from Naperville North High School in 2012. Senior year I took Child Development one and two. In Child Development two we got to run a play school. Children from the neighborhood would come in and each student taught one small motor and one large motor activity and we also read them a story while incorporating interactive activities into it. That class helped me realize that teaching would be the perfect job for me which is the reason why I am perusing a career in elementary education. I am hoping to seek more opportunities with children so I can expand my experiences. Working in and outside of a class room setting have really impacted me. Both of these jobs taught me time management and how to be responsible. They also taught me how to interact with each child on a personal level while still treating each child in the same fair way. That was very important so that no child ever felt left out. With children at such a young age making sure they are always happy and feel good about themselves and the setting they are in is very important since they are still getting used to being away from home and their families for an extended period of time. Both of these jobs also taught me how to provide a safe and supportive environment for the children in any type of setting. I have also had three summers of experience life guarding. This job has taught me a lot about keeping people safe. It has taught me to always be very alert and focused on what is going on around me. I learned a lot about maintaining a clean, healthy and safe environment for people. This life guarding job also taught me to be very responsible, since I was responsible for people of all age’s lives. I am currently CPR/ AED certified and I am also Life Guard certified. I would love the chance to become a nanny and expand my experiences and also use the ones I already have to be the best nanny that I can be.
I think that I would make an excellent fit for this job. I am energetic, outgoing, and caring. I can provide a safe and supportive environment for the children while having very positive energy. I really enjoy working with children so I will always be more than happy to be there every day. It will not just be a job to me; it will be a very pleasurable experience and something that I love doing. I have had experience getting to know children in large settings, not only as a group but also as individuals. I am also experienced in getting to know children in one on one setting or in small settings. Being able to do that will ensure that I will not put children in situations they would not be able to do or that they would feel uncomfortable with. I have had experience in planning group activities in both large and small motor. I have also had experience helping children with their homework. I also have had experience with handling the emotional needs of children in a group and individual setting. I have handled situations by encouraging the children and supporting them. Becoming a nanny would be an amazing opportunity for me. I will dedicate my time and energy to this job. It will be a job that I truly enjoy.
Thank you for considering me as your potential nanny,
Ruby D.. |

Marlo Hoffman |
Marlo Hoffman is one of the owners of Psycho Baby a kids clothing store located in Bucktown, Chicago IL. I worked for marlo for three years. During this time I worked the cash register, worked the sales floor, re-stocked the floor and the back. I also worked the side walk sales, during these we would get to work with childern all ages. Here we would have to talk to each child and make sure they were conferrable while we would spray their hair with hair paint. This job taught me how to communicate well with childern and also how to make sure that the child felt happy and ok with what we were doing to them. |

Scott Burnette |
Scott Burnette was the head coach of the Cress Creek Swim team. He hired me to coach the 6 and under swimmers. This job taught me a lot about keeping each child safe and also how to get to know each child on a personal level. Being in deep water for the first time for a lot of these childern was a challenge. It was an even bigger challenge having to coach a large group all at different skill level. This job taught me how to be sure that each child had a fun time while still learning what they needed to be learning. But most importantly keeping each child safe whild doing this. |
