I am a Mom to 2 terrific, grown kids - son is a college JR and my married daughter is a teacher in GA and I am "Nana" to my adorable 15 months old grandson. I have been a nanny for the past 19 months to the sweetest little 2-year-old, and my heart is aching because her family is moving to NE and I will not be spending my days loving and caring for her anymore. I am a Christian, a non-smoker, and I have a valid NCDL and a safe vehicle for outings. The years I have spent as a mom, (now a) grandmom, child caregiver, nursery worker, SS teacher, public school substitute teacher, and nanny, have given me a wide range of experiences, with a wide range of ages, and have only deepened my love and passion for working with children. In the past, I have cared for children in my home; however, I feel it is best to come to your home to care for your child(ren) in their own environment. We live in N. Durham, and I would prefer to stay in the Durham area. I love animals, so your pets are not a problem, and I plan to renew my infant and child CPR certification soon.
I love playtime (inside & out), lots of reading time, playing and making up games. I also love arts/crafts, going on outings, i. e. library, park, museum, pool, etc. I especially love cuddling & rocking and generally, providing a safe, loving and caring environment for child/children to play and learn in. Spoiling your little one is something that comes naturally to me, and I really hope you won't mind. I need a full-time position, although part-time will be considered. I am passionate about making a difference in the life of your child(ren); finding just the right person to care for your little ones is so important, and I fully understand your concerns and needs. Please contact me to see how I might be able to help your family. I have many references available. I am available to start on June 24, 2013. |

I have been a Nanny for the past 19 mos to a (now) 2 1/2 yr old girl, in their home. She stole my heart from the first day I worked with this family (@ 10 mos old). I provided loving care for her, played with her, took her to the library (every week, from 1 yr old on), took her to the park, the Museum of Life & Science; I taught her colors, ABC's, songs, shapes, and generally, worked on her intellectual development through games, songs, music and movement, and especially reading - lots of books. She was a happy, loving, and eager little sweetheart, that I will miss terribly.
While my son was in Elem school, I worked as a Substitute teacher in his school for 6 years. During that time, I also brought home 3-4 kids for after school care. They would have snack time, play time and HW time. During the summer months, the same kids were in my home for summer childcare - they had a great, relaxing summer, full of activities, ie: weekly library visits, pool, movies, arcade trips, lots of outdoor play, indoor activities, crafts, and of course, breakfast & lunch & snacks. They were well behaved and ranged in age from 5-6 when I started keeping them all, to 10-11 when I stopped. In addition to in-home childcare, I have also regularly worked in our church's nursery (20+ yrs), I have taught Elem Sunday School and 3-yr old choir, and I substituted in my son's Elementary school in GA for all grade levels, Pre-K through 5th grade (6 yrs)
