  About Me

I am the oldest of seven children, five boys and two girls, so I started babysitting early. I have always liked to entertain and care for youngsters, so it seems natural to seek employment in that area. I am highly creative, love arts, crafts and music, getting out to be active or pursuing more educational play.
Ten years after I started babysitting my brothers, here we are. I love channeling pre-K energy, learning with toddlers, cuddling and caring for babies, cooking meals and feeding children. I have less experience with children from five years up, but I can help with homework, set play-dates, and find age appropriate activities. I can and will clean up after kids, do laundry and chauffer from place to place as well.
My style of care is loving and laid-back. I enforce house rules in a positive and patient way, and encourage communication between myself and parents to help us keep the child's environment stable and secure. Time is important to every person looking for childcare as well as caregivers, so I make a point of respecting both parties' time by being prompt, though if parents need more time they are welcome to it. I have yet to work for a family where I did not love the children I worked with, which to me just shows how lovable and wonderful children are, no matter their temperament.
I look forward to meeting many more families and children to care for, since I am starting to make a career of it.

Ernelle LaCount
I have known Ernelle for at least eight years now. She was director of the Cavalry Church Children's ministry when I started volunteering as a high school teacher's aid and was more than happy to welcome me back when I returned from college. I still volunteer under her on Sundays every other month.
