  About Me

I was born in Wilmington, DE and was raised between there and the Philadelphia suburbs. I grew up with three siblings and more often than not a dog too. We were a very social family so I had many friends, as well as plenty of babysitting opportunities.. I moved here to Ft. Lauderdale with my parents, my older brother, and some friends when I was 22-it was the best thing I ever did. I don't care for the looooong Northeast winters so South Florida is perfect for me.
Currently, my parents are due to celebrate 40 years together next year, my sister is married with two kids, my older brother is married with three kids, and I am engaged to be married-no date set yet but hopefully there will be soon.
I enjoy reading, sewing, swimming, going to the beach, horseback riding, riding bikes, going to the movies, soccer, boating, most water sports, roller coasters and theme parks, miniature golf, and I love dogs-currently I am dogless because my dog got very sick 3 years ago and had to be put down. As you can tell I prefer to be active.

  Work Experience & Education Background

10 years experience, 4 references
At 10 I began working with my mom in our church's nursery 1-2x a month. I began babysitting at 14, and at 15 I was babysitting for church friends' children for 3-5 days at a time when our church had adult conferences out of town. I loved watching little ones but my father would not allow me to pursue a career in childcare because of all the weirdos out there. Several years later during the summer before my senior year of college I finally landed two part-time nanny positions. one family had 3 kids and the other had 4.. Shortly after moving to Florida I began working full-time for a family of 3 children with another one on the way, and I stayed with them till they moved out of state two years later. Then I got another full-time position working for a family with one newborn and lots of housecleaning. Two years later another baby came along and 9months after that they also moved out of state. Lastly, I worked full-time for a family with two children for two years. For the last 8years, I have been regularly babysitting my best friends children (presently 9, almost 7, and 5), and my 3 nieces since their births (almost 5 and twin 15mo. olds).
