| My professional aspirations are to serve the medical needs of children around the world. In an effort to start my experiences with the lives of children, I began babysitting for the neighborhood kids when I was 14. Through recommendations from both child and parent(s) I was able to establish several regular jobs for myself and continued in various capacities until I was 18. When I started college I stopped my work with children in order to concentrate on my studies. I miss the company and struggles of working with children. It is what makes me happy and I feel I have a great deal to offer as friend, chaperone, and in a best case scenario as a mentor. Every child needs a different kind of care. A few guidelines to my methods are honesty, compassion, patience and a firm but gentle hand. I like to discuss the discipline style of the parents so that everyone is comfortable with the approach that I take with the kid(s). |

| While working as a babysitter/nanny I worked with all age groups from infant to the early teen years. For the past two years I have held the position of Kitchen Manager and Head Chef at a childrens summer camp. While my position involves a great deal of work it does allow me the freedom to spend a good deal of time with the campers, ages 8-18. I have found many ways to work with children over the years, but the point is that I make sure to find a way. They are my passion, they are my dream, and they will one day be my career. |
