Since I came to this country at age 12 I was entitled to take care of my siblings younger than me. Since then babysitting is not a job for me, it's something I love to do. I am currently a college student, but as soon as I finish college my plan is to have a day care on my own. I would love to have a place where I can take care of children and at the same time teach them. Working with kids its my passion and its something I am willing to do as long as I can. |

Work Experience & Education Background |
5 years experience, 2 references |
I have been taking care of my younger siblings since I was 12, my responsibility consisted from feeding them to teaching them family values. Besides that, every weekend I was in charge taking care of my baby cousins while their parents were working. I worked for a few relatives as a nanny during my adolescence, I was responsible for creating games, keep the children entertained, feed them, and make sure they were following their parents' rules in the house. At the age of 16 I was hired by the Read Alliance to teach children in elementary schools how to read. I was a reading tutor for children of ages 5-10, besides teaching them I was also in charge of helping them with their homework and If they didn't understand something my responsibility was to explain and teach them the topic. By the age of 17 I started working in a Summer Camp for the city. In the Summer Camp I was responsible to take care of 5 children from the ages of 8-11years old and involve them in many activities to entertain them. I was also responsible for basic first aid in case a child was injured, ensured that the children were practicing safe activities, motivate them to start new habits and make sure the kids were happy by the time they were put into the parents' hands. Last but not least, a relative of mine just had a baby, since the time he was born I have been taking care of him and he loves me, the mother is so happy with the results of my work that she has chosen me to be his "Godmother". This is just one result of my work as a babysitter, but I expect to get more than that. Nothing compares to the love that you receive from the children you take care of, and that is what makes me really happy about taking care of babies. |
