  About Me

Hello, my name is Amber and I am 23 years old and am very interested in being your nanny. I have several years experience as a babysitter, a mentor to young girls and an extensive year as an urban education fellow at a middle school. During that year, I provided individualized instruction for 6th, 7th and 8th graders. In order to be effective as possible, I played a key role in developing strategic plans in order to keep our students engaged and to enhance their academic development. With a focus on developing the whole child (academic, socially and emotionally), as an AmeriCorps member, I implemented and developed workshops designed to enhance the learning outside the classroom. These workshops address students’ specific needs, interests and skill levels. Because of my experience as an education fellow, I am very skilled at creating educational activities and lesson plans for children of all ages. Through other professional and volunteer experiences, I have provided care and academic support, for children from pre-school through the 10th grade. I also have a clean driving record.

I am very loving, patient and outgoing and love having activities that children will find entertaining. I enjoy caring for children and planning educational activities for them because everyday is different and new and it’s amazing being part of a child learning and growing as a person. Because of the many hats I wore at Great Oaks Charter School, I have developed impeccable time management and the ability to prioritize projects. I have also gained hands-on experience, working with children and ensuring their academic, social and emotional development. In addition, I am an excellent cook and enjoy preparing healthy delicious meals with organic and locally grown ingredients. I look forward to hearing from you.
