  About Me

Children have been my life since I was a child myself. I loved them like they are mine. In some cases, I call them mine. Because they are mine, I protect them and I love them. I may not have a child on my own but I love being someone your child can come to whenever they are troubled. I have been a live-in-nanny and I loved it. It was the best job I ever had. I love knowing that I am doing something great for the family whose children I am watching over. I love knowing that the children can come and play with me. I love making them laugh and kissing their booboos and reading them bedtime stories. I literally derive joy from their laughters. Their happiness is my happiness. I don't know what greater thing you can get than a laughter of a child.

One of my hobbies is collecting. I love collecting simple things. It can range from same style of laptop cases to collecting stuff animals. I may keep everything but I end up giving the stuff animals to the children I watch over as a reward. Other than that, I like drawing and playing games. Most of the games I play with children involve learning game with a sticker prize at the end.

My goal for the future is to work for a company that will grow awareness of simple electronic learning games for children. My current school major allows me to program codes and it would be awesome and interesting if I could merge my major with my interest. So to put it simply, I would be shooting for a company that will be working toward the welfare of children.

I would definitely say that my strengths lies with children. I do everything in my power to make sure that the children I am looking after are not in pain and are actually enjoying themselves.

I found my weakness in my language barrier. I have a stuttering disability which make it hard sometimes to communicate what is going through my mind. It never stop me from my work and I am prepare to write down what I am feeling if I get stuck.

The most recent job that I held was being a live in nanny. It was my first job as a nanny because I have been known as a babysitter. I started around September when everybody was getting back from their vacation and back into school life. Being that I am also a college student, I placed my school hours around this job and focus on the job and what it required of me. I was watching two beautiful twin girls who were almost 4 years old. I became their friends and I became someone they can run to and hug with all their might. Because the mom leaves early in the morning, my role and responsibility at this job was to make breakfast for the kids. While they are eating their breakfast I would then get what they will wear for school ready and start dressing them if they are not already dressed. Sometimes in the morning they do not get ready before I come to give them breakfast, so I usually do it while they are eating so we do not loose time. After being dressed and finished eating, we leave for school. They attend a half-day (9AM-12PM) school. My job was to get them to school on time and be there before they get out of class. During the hours that they are in class, I hurry to my morning classes also and make it back before they get out. We return home safely and have a little snack. After snack is a little nap-time. Every children that I have watched over always have to take a nap. I know they will overgrow it but its good when they are young. Their mom come home by the time they wake.

Daniel Velazquez
To whom it may concern, I have known Mayi L N. for over four years. Mayi is one of the hardest persons to forget due to her trying her best to help everyone in any way she can. She is great with children, multi tasking, being a leader, and creative. Mayi has always expressed to me how much she loves taking care of kids. She is the oldest of four sisters and has helped raised the youngest one in all aspects of life. Her younger sister sees her as a second mother due to Mayi helping to change diapers, feeding her, and all other parental duties that one has with a child. Now her sister is almost a teenager and still sees Mayi as a role model and is grateful for raising her. Her sweet and loving personality along with her knowledge of being a nanny has opened many doors for Mayi. She is constantly being asked to baby sit children of other family members and she was also appointed the activities leader for children within her religious community. Even if she has a busy day Mayi will do everything that is expected of her. Her multi tasking skills have improved over the years dramatically. She has always been able to take care of kids and study at the same time, but now it seems like there is more than one of her at once. I have seen her clean a house, take care of children, study, and cook at the same time. Her to do list might be long and tedious, but Mayi will have everything planned out and will accomplish everything on that list with a great attitude. My favorite qualities about her are her attitude and her leadership skills. She has helped many times with my niece and my cousins. I use to take care of my niece who at the time was a year old. Well the first time I took care of my niece I realized that I did not know how to change a diaper. My niece's diaper became full and I began to panic, my niece started crying and I did not know what to do. I called Mayi and asked her if she could run over to my house and change the diaper for me. She rushed over knowing that the baby needed her more than I did. When she got there she was smiling and took over the situation happily. She changed the diaper and put the baby to sleep all in less than ten minutes. The quality that children love the most about Mayi is her creativity. She doesn't like to admit it to many, but she can create amazing things either by drawing, talking or even pretending. She would comb my cousin's hair and make her feel like a princess just by talking to her while she was grooming her. She loves watching movies and singing with kids, and sometimes even pretend to be part of the movie. She makes the kids feel great about their activities, even if she is playing pretend she is always teaching the kids either many social skills that they will need to develop as they get older. No matter the age of your children, Mayi will find the best possible way to take care of them. She has experience with children of all ages and with the different responsibilities that come with taking care of children. Although her studies are important to her, Mayi will always focus on the children and manage to somehow study at the same time. She is lovable, protecting, fun, dependable, intelligent, respectful, and helpful. I would definitely call her to help me with my niece and my cousin, but I do not take care of them anymore. She is a great role model for children and young adults as well. If you have any questions regarding Mayi do not hesitate in contacting me. Sincerely, Daniel Velazquez Trujillo

Laura Maloney
I worked as a live in nanny for the Maloney family for more than 5 months. I was to take care of two little twin of an angel and look after them. My school kept me from pursuing this job any further.
