I have more than 7 years of child care experience, ranging from newborns to adolescents. I also have a 10 year old brother, so I have seen first hand what it means to be an active boy and have fun outdoors. I strive to make sure every child has fun and safe experience during our time together, whether that means staying active through biking and dancing or using their imagination by putting on skits and doing crafts. In addition to freelance babysitting in my community, I have also volunteered at my community's Safety Town, a two-week program for children entering kindergarten, and taught Vacation Bible School classes for students in Preschool-5th grade.
I grew up in a suburb outside of Cleveland and graduated from high school in 2013. I spend this past year in rural Ecuador, living with a host family and teaching English as a fellow in the Global Citizen Year Program. As part of my fellowship, I taught English to 1st through 7th graders at a local school, where I learned play and childhood wonder have no language barriers. I spent this past summer as a counselor at the Farm and Wilderness Camp in Vermont, where I co-led backpacking overnight backpacking trips for girls 9-12 years old.
I will taking a semester off from Eugene Lang College at The New School this coming Fall.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
