A little bit about me: I am originally from Portland, Oregon. I come from a large family (I am the youngest of six) and I have 11 nieces and nephews. I am a happy, patient, loving individual, with love, compassion, and respect for everyone. In my free time, I enjoy going on hikes, swimming, karaoke, playing soccer, dancing, and reading. I recently moved to Davis, CA in order to complete my B. S. in Global Health. Before I decided to move to California, I was working for 8 years in the social work field, specifically in child abuse and domestic violence advocacy and case management. I have 5 years work experience with children and teens ages 0 to 17. I have extensive knowledge and training working with children and teens with behavioral issues, developmental delays, and traumas. I have experience in making travel arrangements, as well as travelling with families. I am also CPR and First aid trained. I am also fully bilingual and bi-cultural. |

While working for Catholic Charities of Oregon, I was given the opportunity to work as the Child Specialist, where I worked with children exposed to to domestic violence, many whom had behavioral issues, developmental delays, and special needs. There I would facilitate weekly support groups with the children and organize age appropriate activities for them like art, reading books, making field trip arrangements, playing games like competitive sports, playground games, and board games. I would also do intense case management with the family.
I was also given the opportunity to work for as the Adolescent Teen dating and pregnancy violence advocate. There I was stationed out of the state child protection office and would work with teen moms and their children in maintain a safe violence free home. |
