  About Me

I am from a small town in Pennsylvania, and moved to New York City this past fall to attend New York University. I love the city and am enjoying college thoroughly. I am currently employed at an elementary school working with first grade children, tutoring and caring for them in various ways. I really like my job, I have formed very close relationships with my kids and will miss them very much. I love the outdoors so I would love to spend time outside with any children I may get the chance to care for. I am outgoing, responsible, capable, assertive, and enthusiastic. I am a pretty good cook, and can work my way around a mop. Most importantly, I am a strong believer in the importance of early childhood development, which is always heavily influenced by the people they spend time with every day. Although I am younger than most of the applicants, I am approaching my job search very seriously. I believe I have very much to offer and would love to take on the responsibility of caring for your children. I believe that earning a child's trust is essential to taking good care of them and fulfilling their needs. So my first approach is to show lots of interest in the child, in hopes of forming a relationship which allows for mutual trust and understanding. I do my best to maintain these relationships so that when the child misbehaves they are more likely to want to listen to me, as opposed to someone who is constantly scolding or yelling at them. I believe I am patient and kind when it comes to my childcare methods. I also firmly believe that there should be continuity between the way parents and the nanny both deal with the child in question, so working together is key.

I have worked with children in various ways. I have never been employed as a nanny, but childcare is certainly not foreign to me. I am currently employed at an elementary school in New York City where I work in a first grade classroom. I love my job and hope to continue working with children over the summer. I have held several babysitting jobs. I have also volunteered at a horse back riding camp for years helping small children learn to ride. I have volunteered with disabled children as well.

Childcare experience within the following age groups:

Education/Training:
College, First Aid Training, CPR Training
I am currently attending college at New York University. I am finishing up my freshman year and I love it. I am possibly studying to become an education major, but as of now I am undecided as far as my major.
