  About Me

I am a fun loving, patient, energetic, nurturing and loving woman. I have a wide range of experience working with children of all ages. I am creative, artistic, and fun. I love working with children and I hope to find a loving family to work for. I am very patient, fun, creative, and energetic. I set firm limits while working with children while also providing nurturing and loving care. I love using creativity and developing fun and educational activities for children to enjoy. Children are very curious, they need time to explore and discover the world around them and I will provide time and activities for them to be able to do this.

  Work Experience & Education Background

0 years experience, 3 references
I have been working with children for about nine years now. I am 22 years-old and I started babysitting for various families at the age of thirteen. I have babysat children between the ages of three months and 13 years. I took two early childhood courses that were offered at my high school (child development and early childhood education). After high school I began working as a preschool teacher at a day care center. I taught preschool for three years and during the summers I worked at the preschool's camp. During my years as a preschool teacher I became certified as a preschool teacher and an infant/toddler cargiver through DEEC (Department of Early Education and Care). My responsibilities at the preschool included planning a developmentally appropriate curriculum for the preschool class, organizing the activities, behavior managment, supervising the children at school, in the playground, and on field trips, communicating with parents daily and twice a year for conferences, and using a preschool assessment to share with the parents at the conferences. While working at the YMCA preschool, I also had the chance to work in the infant and toddler rooms at other YMCA centers when they needed coverage. After three years of working at the YMCA I began working as a special education aide at an elementary school. I have worked as a special education aide for the past two years with a child who has autism. I began working with him last year when he entered kindergarten and I followed him to first grade this school year. Last year while he was in kindergarten, I ran ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) programs with him, which involved one-on-one work through 25 different programs to help him attain his IEP goals. I also used ABA for behavior managment with him.
