I was raised on a farm in the Northwest corner of Illinois with 2 older sisters and a twin sister. We were always raised to be honest, humble, to do our best, and to work until the job was done and done well. I am currently single without any children of my own, but I do have a niece and 3 nephews who I adore. I like to eat healthy, be active, & to do anything artsy. I have a photography business on the side, so in my spare time, I love taking photos, listening to music, and reading; I am shy at first meeting, but warm up after getting to know people. I am honest, hard-working, genuine, and love to smile and have fun. I have always loved working with children and making them smile and helping them to explore and learn new things about the big world around them. |

Work Experience & Education Background |
10 years experience, 3 references |
The summer before beginning my undergraduate career at SXU, I worked at an in-home daycare called Jodi’s Land of Learning where I assumed several child-care duties, such as cooking, cleaning, maintaining safety and hygiene of children, while also interacting with and facilitating a fun learning environment for them. Both during my undergraduate and graduate studies, I was assigned clients with varying communicative disorders of varying degrees of severity. During my practicum experiences I planned and carried out activities and crafts, while also incorporating curriculum in order to create the most well-suited therapy plan for each individual client. I was required to communicate and sometimes collaborate with supervisors, as well as parents to ensure the best possible therapy plan. Also, while I was in college, I worked as a Lead Kindergarten camp counselor at a YMCA day camp for two summers, where I oversaw a group of 5 kindergarten students while simultaneously assisting the 1st-3rd grade counselors with their groups as well. As an employee at the camp, I was required to plan and carry out daily activities such as games, crafts, snack-time routines, etc. I underwent training to ensure safety of the children I was caring for as well. I also have previous babysitting experience since I have been doing so since junior high. I have a heart for children of all ages, and personalities, and have always found joy in working with and interacting with them. |
