  About Me

My name is Sarah Kate Jilek. I am currently a nanny for a family in Oak Park. I live in the Wicker Park/Ukrainian Village area. My five year career with this family is coming to a close in 2 weeks as the children are in school all day and the children's father is starting a new job in which he will get home in time to pick them up. I have taken excellent care of these two children since they were 1 and 3 years old. now they are 6 and 8. Time just flies by.
I have one semester left to get my BFA in Musical Theatre Performance with a minor in Classical Voice. My hope is to go on to graduate school where I will earn a masters degree and teaching certificate for early childhood education.
All of the families I have encountered during my years as a nanny will tell you that I am "The World's Greatest Nanny" or "Mary Poppins". I take pride in being able to engage with children in educational and fun activities. It is very rare for the TV to be on when I am caring for the children. I sing songs, play games, dance, go to the park, help with homework, and give nurturing guidance and lots of love. I will provide you with a list of several references at your request. Please feel free to call, text, or email me anytime. I look forward to hearing from you and meeting your precious children. I could not have come upon your posting at a more appropriate time. I hope to hear from you ASAP.

Additional Experiences/Qualifications/Preferences:
I have been told by other nannies/caregivers and mothers that I have more patience than anyone in the caregiving field. I believe in focusing on the child's strengths and rewarding good behavior rather than harping on negativity. When disciplining, I have found that the "1-2-3 Magic" approach works best. I do my best to have fun with the children while providing a safe and structured environment.
