I retired from a very successful administrative career at UCLA (2013). March, 2014, I was hired as a part-time nanny (M-W 8am-6pm) for a 3 month old baby girl who just had her 1st birthday. This starter position gave me the opportunity to see if I would like to do this as a second career... I love it. This family knows that I am looking for a full-time nanny position. I also have occasional babysitting positions on the weekends for 4 other families. Most of my experience/wisdom/mentoring in child raising has helped my extended family and colleagues (young parents) with helpful insight for years. I started babysitting for church members and neighbors when I was 13 years old.
I have raised 2 children to be kind, considerate, respectful and loving to become wonderful parents to my beautiful grandchildren. Back in the day; I delivered via Lamaze method, breastfed and grew my own veggies so their intro to foods was an adventurous, healthy one. Being physically active myself; I enrolled them in Mommy and Me Gym/Swim and respectively they were swimming by 6 months. When they entered elementary school; I was lucky enough to land a library media clerk position at their Culver City school... instilling the love of reading not only to them but all the children at the school.
I have a current Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificate as well as my vaccinations and a TB (negative) test. I do not smoke. I have a new 2015 Kia Forte and have an excellent driving record.
I would be happy to provide references for you as well as meet or chat with you on the phone. I look forward to hearing from you and wish you the best of luck in your search.
