  About Me

I feel that I am a very warm and loving individual. I am very passionate about child developement feeling that this is a very important aspect of life. The first few years are undoubtedly the most important because they make up the basis of that individuals future. I pride myself on being very easy going and mild tempered. I am also very creative with the activities I provide, given a day at the park or a rainy day indoors. I am easily able to provide a fun, yet nurturing environment. I have a very authoritative childcare style. Authoritative individuals are very supportive of a child, rather than punitive. They want their children to be assertive as well as socially responsible, and self-regulated as well as cooperative. The American Psychological Association claims that this is the most beneficial style of parenting because the child is provided with a very warm and loving atmosphere in which they can thrive.

  Work Experience & Education Background

5 years experience, 5 references
I have 5 years of experience caring for children, three of which were performed in a day care setting. I have experience with children of all ages, however, I have focused much of my attention on children ages 6 weeks to 4 years. This is because I am also a college student studying the early developmental stages. This is the reason I am taking some time away from my studies to gain some pratical experience in a real-world setting. Having worked in a daycare, I am certified in both CPR and pediatric first aid through the American Red Cross. I have also completed many different trainings which account for my great understanding of the needs of young children in order to thrive as individuals.

Childcare experience within the following age groups:
Newborn - 3 months, 3 - 12 months, 1 - 2 years, 2 - 5 years, 5 - 10 years, over 10 years of age, special needs children, twins, triplets
Education/Training:
College, First Aid Training, CPR Training
I am a second year college student but have decided to take some time off to gain some experience and knowledge in a real world setting. Since childcare is such a broad field, I feel that through a nannying position I will be able to find what I am most passionate about and will then be able to refocus my studies to a more specific area.
