  About Me

I have a passion for working with children. I have worked with children both in rehabilitative and recreational settings. I completed a four month internship at a pediatric respite care center where I developed and implemented gross motor programs and assisted physical, occupational, and speech therapists. I was also in the classrooms working with the children first hand. I have been a volunteer gymnastics coach for the past two years, assisting with a special needs program. I also have experience as a camp counselor where I worked with children who had visual impairments. My hobbies include photography, sand volleyball, gymnastics, and working with children.

Meaghan Walls
My internship was over so I had to leave this great place. Here's a reference letter that Meaghan wrote for me: Danielle has been a valuable contributor to the therapy department from the first week of her internship. She is a natural leader with an innate ability to develop relationships with children and their caregivers alike. This quality has immeasurable value, especially working with children with special needs. At the point of interview Danielle had already identified an interest in adaptive exercise, and she independently developed a weekly group exercise program to lead with toddler and preschool aged students. At out Northwest location she led 3 classes in a 30 minute activity (1 time a week), providing the children with new, fun activities, while, while also teaching the classroom caregivers alternative activities they can conduct with their classes. At our Southwest location, Danielle implemented shortened versions of her activities in the classroom 1 time a week. She showed a willingness to assist the therapists or classrooms in any way needed, often filling in as an assistant in our behavioral health preschool room for extended periods of time on any given day. She also volunteered at several of our community offerings- whether to assist with guiding activities or sharing another of her talents by being our photographer for the event. No matter the environment or activity she did everything with a smile! From an academic standpoint she is thorough and organized with her research and presentation of materials. She is a self-driven learner who utilizes creativity and displays enthusiasm in all activities. She met every deadline provided, usually ahead of schedule. She also sought out information related to specific therapy activities, techniques or treatment plans by asking appropriate questions while assisting the therapists. This clear demonstration of a desire to learn and find the best solution to rehab type challenges will serve her well as she pursues her PT degree. Sara Muchowicz
Sara was my manager at Active Spine Physical Therapy for over 2 years. I chose to leave this position to look for a job that had more hours. Sara saw how I worked with individuals, including her own children. Sara has made remarks multiple times about my natural ability to engage with children.
