  About Me

I am an artist, and I have been working with children for over 8 years, whose ages range from 4 months old to ten years. For several years my child care schedule involved picking up children from their schools, then taking them to the playground, and or special after school classes, and/or on play dates. Then I would bring the children home (via the subway) prepare snacks and/or dinner. I’ve have maintained close ties with my former employers (who can provide excellent references) and generally stay with families for a long period, I also get great satisfaction when I am able to work with older children.

My most recent job was working 30 hours/week for a lovely family with an infant (I took care of him 3 ten hour days per week – from when he was 4 months old until he turned two). Recently, the mother had another child, and their extended family is currently in town to take over with the little boy, so I am not needed as I was but I still work for them occasionally.

However, I have not only worked with infants, I have worked with children of all ages. It is so rewarding. I love children and enjoy helping them obtain their motor, language, thinking, and other development skills. I am energetic, physically active, loving and responsible and I have excellent and enthusiastic references from former employers. Organized and punctual, they often describe me as patient, nurturing, responsible, and fun. I also have a degree in Fine Arts (Painting & Sculpture), and I pursue my art when I am not working with children.

I am comfortable establishing routines, assisting in sleep training, potty training, dealing with separation anxiety, preparing meals, changing diapers, and everything else that goes along with providing a nurturing environment.
