  About Me

Greetings. My name is "Menchu" as I prefer to be called by my nickname.
I am a professional caregiver for babies, toddlers and preschoolers. I have almost 5 years of credit to this experience in just one daycare. I was once an employee in the corporate world for 17 years in an Advertising Company, working as a Broadcast Producer. I enjoyed that job until I had to migrate to the US. I have worked in a financial office in California then I decided to move to the East Coast. It was in 2011 that I experienced working in a daycare.

I enjoy working with the children because I found a world that felt so rewarding - to love and be loved by pure beings, the babies. I found myself wanting to remain in this world they introduced me to and if I may say so, this is the best job I have ever had, so far. This job is not just about meeting their physical needs. It is much about loving another being; talking to them, enriching their curiosity, interacting in fun ways with them.

I have become a better person and love myself even more when I got to understand their world much better. And I also trust that I have enriched their lives in many ways as I provide them their daily needs.
Their needs are simple and it becomes easy for me to give them that love because I have come to understand their world. It is heavy in my heart to leave ELF Daycare as I have grown with the children. Some of them I have been with since they were 3 mos. old until 4 years old. But life goes on and now I am open to sharing my talents, skills and love to other children that comes my way. Anyone interested to know more, please contact me or I may give my employers contact information for verification of my professional work experience, as well as character information.

I would like to add some skills. I love Photography. I am also a nature lover and I feel the need to share the love for Nature to our little ones. And so when I go out in our 4 -passenger stroller, I take pictures of flowers, trees, sky, etc. and show them up-close to each child for better appreciation. I also love trees and so we have this "Tree friend" whom I often hug when we pass by. To my surprise, sometimes I see the children go out of their way while playing in the park to "hug" trees too.

Thank you very much and best wishes for your search.
Sincerely,

Menchu

  Work Experience & Education Background

5 years experience, 3 references
My experience with babies/toddlers and pre-schoolers involves addressing their basic needs-i. e. food, potty, sleep/rest. I make sure that they are tidy, fed, and gets ample amount of sleep. Care for me when it comes to these basic needs means everything is done with respect and kindness, from the way we talk to them, to the way we touch them-with gentleness.

Other than the basic needs, there is the emotional/psychological need. I treat the little ones as my friends. That means, I talk to them, communicate and use words that will make them understand. Our interaction not only involves communication, but also action- playing/reading/learning with them. I do not just "watch" them, do these interactions with them.
