  About Me

I am a caring gentle woman living in the heart of Brooklyn, NY. I am a single hard working mother of 2 daughters aged 1. 5 and 6. 5 years old. I enjoy the outdoors. I love to take neighborhood trips to the library or museums. I am big on education and learning in general. I am easy going and children love to be around me. I enjoy going to the movie theater every now and again with my girls. As well as other recreational (age appropriate) activities. I believe in teaching young children about self love/esteem and manners/proper etiquette. Showing respect to those around them, but also appropriately expressing their feelings when necessary, because we all have them. I do NOT smoke and can't stand the smell of it. I have been fingerprinted through SCR last year and willing to undergo being fingerprinted again, as well as drug testing. I like to bring my youngest along with me when I am babysitting ONLY.. ONLY if the parents agree to it. I know some parents may think the attention will mainly diverted to my own child, but that isn't true. I believe in the montessori method of learning and I think children of various ages should be together to learn amongst one another. It also saves money for me finding daycare for her. It's a constant play date so to speak. But again, my youngest would ONLY be around if the parents agreed to it. It would also make me more accessible to you (the parents) by not having to rush and pick my children up from daycare by 5:30/6pm. I would be able to work later hours if needed.

I have been babysitting for a long time. My first babysitting gig was when I was 7 yrs old just watching my little brother. That grew into watching my neighbors little ones at the age of 12. By 15, I was babysitting every weekend.. And enjoyed it all. I love children. When in junior high and high school, I had a passion for architecture and thought that was my calling. But every chance I get, I still want to work with children. I have applied to many jobs to work for children (babysitter, nanny, school bus matron, school safety agent, school crossing guard, summer camp, and various daycare centers). Now, at 31 yrs old, I am trying to get back in school to get any additional credentials needed to actually gain these employment positions. Whether it be a degree in special education early childhood education or my CDA (Child Development Associate) through continuing education, I want to still work with children while pursuing my academics.

I do have a valid drivers license, first aid and CPR certified as well. I also have training to work with children / individuals who are intellectually delayed/disabled and developmentally delayed/disabled.
