For almost 2 years, I am currently working diligently as a Preschool teacher at Sheltering
Arms for children formerly known Episcopal Social Services to ensure that my students receive the highest quality education that is possible. I had to work with a group of 17; 3 to 4 year olds. I would like to continue my career as Early Childhood Head Teacher.
I believe that I am thoroughly prepared for the position of Head Teacher because I already perform many of the duties required of the Head teacher, such as modifies and develops daily curriculum needed based on techniques required for individual learning styles and approved curriculum, assessing the students using ESQ assessment tool, monthly newsletter for the parents, planning curriculum using teaching strategies gold, writing reports based on child’s development, works with parents, administrators and other professionals to develop individual education plans for students. In addition, I maintained interest areas in the classroom, set up, establishing a structure for each day (schedules and routines) so that children know what to expect and understand what is expected of them, organize choice times small and large group and create a classroom community in which children learn how to get along with others and solve problems peacefully.
I also worked at New York Board of Education as a Substitute teacher for about 6 years. I have been working with Prek to 2nd grade students. I assist teacher in the classroom on occasion perform teacher related activities such as teaching pre planned lesson engage students, differentiated instruction, keep the class in order, interacting with children, faculty and staff.
