  About Me

I have always enjoyed working with children and love seeing them learn through play.
I TAUGHT PRESCHOOL FOR 3 YEARS; in charge of preparing the lesson plan and teaching (along with an assistant teacher) fifteen children - 3 yr olds on T/TH and 4 yr olds on M/W/F. I had the children help me make homemade play-doh each month as we explored different colors and scents. In addition, we had fun creating crafts and enjoyed cooking projects, story time and exciting field trips too.

I had the privilege to work as a NANNY TO INFANT TWIN GIRLS for a year and a half until I returned to school to study Autism and had an internship working with a 10 year old boy and a 3 year old boy, both on the Autism spectrum.

I enjoy hiking, biking, swimming, making flower arrangements, baking and reading books. Most importantly, I am the mom of 2 wonderful daughters - now grown and living on their own - and just welcomed the birth of my first grandson.

Pam Singh
Pam & Abi Singh are the parents of the 2 adorable twin girls I watched. I worked as their Nanny for a year and a half. My main focus was to spend time with the girls; interacting with them through singing, dancing, playing with toys, reading lots of books and enjoying long walks. Bath time, diaper changes, lots of hugs and time to cuddle and nap time was a part of each day. I also did light housekeeping, folded some laundry, roasted vegetables and fruits to make homemade baby food, along with fresh pancakes for breakfast when they got older. I returned to school to take some graduate level classes in the field of Autism and the growing number of children it affects. During that time I had to do an internship to work with children on the Autism spectrum. For this reason, I had to give up watching the twins.

Shirley Melder
Shirley is the director of Children's Choice Preschool in Weymouth, Massachusetts. I worked under her care and guidance for 3 years. I originally took over for a teacher on maternity leave...and ended up getting to stay for another 2 years. I taught 3 & 4 year olds. I had to give up teaching when my husband got a job transfer to another state. - See recommendation letter from Shirley Melder below - CHILDREN’S CHOICE 385 RALPH TALBOT STREET WEYMOUTH, MA 02190 781-337-2698 TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN, IT IS WITH GREAT PLEASURE THAT I WRITE THIS LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION FOR DEBBIE HACKBARTH. I HAD THE PRIVILEGE OF WORKING WITH MS. HACKBARTH AS HER SUPERVISOR AND AS HER CO-WORKER IN THE CLASSROOM FOR TWO AND A HALF YEARS. MS. HACKBARTH ALWAYS CAME IN TO SCHOOL WITH ENTHUSIASM AND A SMILE, READY TO INTERACT WITH THE CHILDREN, IN HER 3 AND 4 YEAR-OLD CLASSES, WITH HER CREATIVE LESSONS AND ACTIVITIES. SHE SHOWED RESPECT FOR EACH CHILD AND WORKED WITH EACH CHILD TO INSURE THAT THEY HAD A POSITIVE SCHOOL EXPERIENCE. SHE KEPT THE PARENTS INFORMED OF SCHOOL EVENTS AND CHILD PROGRESS THROUGH WELL-WRITTEN NOTICES AND EVALUATIONS. MS. HACKBARTH WAS A TEAM PLAYER, READY TO LEARN AND OFFER HER INSIGHTS WITH EASE AND PROFESSIONALISM. AS SHE MOVES FORWARD TO PURSUE WORKING WITH STUDENTS WHO HAVE DISABILITIES. I FEEL THAT THIS WILL BE HER APPROACH WITH EACH STUDENT SHE INTERACTS WITH. IT IS WITHOUT ANY HESITATION, THAT I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DEBBIE HACKBARTH AS A VALUED ASSET TO ANY SCHOOL SETTING SHE PARTNERS WITH. SINCERELY, SHIRLEY MELDER DIRECTOR CHILDRENSCHOICE385@YAH...
