Sarit Rapport
To whom it may concern, This letter serves as a letter of recommendation for Kanchan Thapa. Kanchan began working for our family in November 2008 until December 2015. At that point, my son was about 8 months old and I had never left him in the care of anyone outside of family members. My very first impression of her was that she was honest, loving and social. My instincts were right. During the over five years Kanchan has been in our family, she has demonstrated that she really does love the children, cares for their safety and respects the wishes of her employers. She does not come late and will not hesitate to stay a little later if requested (though, of course, I fairly give her the time back in other times). She is committed and understands healthy eating, respects the household (i.e. doesn’t leave a mess at the end of the day) and would often go over and above the usual “nanny” duties by helping me, especially in the beginning when Alexander was a baby and after the birth of our second child with errands and all kinds of things beyond just taking care of the kids. Kanchan is extremely well networked. She has a lot of friends, whether nannies or not and is quickly able to make plans for a playdate on any given day. There have been very few times (even with bad weather and rain and snow), that she has not arranged for some sort of playdate or activity for our children. She is happy to walk them, feed and them and do all sorts of activities with them. She has cooked for them, introducing our children to a wide variety of foods. And overall has become part of the children’s lives in a meaningful way. Kanchan is also extremely patient. As the babies have grown into toddlers and then children, her past experience, and general well natured manner allows her to be extremely patient with all of the difficult times that comes with small children (dressing, naps, eating, toys, etc.). Overall, we do love Kanchan and it was extremely difficult to let her go. Since our kids have grown and my elder is going to school, we could not offer to give her full time job. Otherwise, we would love to have her. Any family would be lucky to have her. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me. Regards, Sarit Rapport
