  About Me

Hi family.

My name is Lizzy, I am 18 years old and from Portland OR. I am looking for a live in nanny opportunity in San Francisco for at least a year (hopefully more. ) to get residency so I can attend University the following year. I am very open minded and can adapt to anything. I am very eager to meet you and your family and build new relationships, and make be positive influence in your children's lives. I will love them just as much as you love them.

My child care experience includes baby sitting/nannying/mothers helper, picking up from school, cooking meals (currently mentoring an advanced culinary arts class. ) including healthy eating habits. I do lots of chores, gardening and general cleaning for families while watching the kids, and really enjoy running errands and organizing ("who is this girl does she like changing diapers too. "). I have experience with all ages ranging from only a few months to 12 years old. I helped my single mother raise my little brother most of his life so I have first hand experience of what an all day busy routine is like. I have been a ODS (Outdoor School) counselor for many years, taking care of a cabin full of 6th graders for a week at a time and teaching them about nature, our ecosystems, and how to be thinkers and leaders. I also have experience tutoring and mentoring classes including Adv. Film, culinary, and overall general homework help. I will always try the best to my ability to help with any academics your child needs.

I am passionate about music, art, science, yoga, the outdoors, and sharing that with the kids I am around. I play the Ukulele very well and dabble with the keyboard and harmonica. I am happy to teach these skills to others. I am all about painting, clay, crafts, and any other way to express yourself and create art with kids. As much as I am a movie buff (I love the childhood classics Totoro, princess bride, never ending story) I have a really strong belief that kids (and adults) should spend a limited time on the screen and do more creating and physical activity's. I love hiking, swimming, exploring, and anything outdoors.

Overall I am laid back, have a good since of humor, and like to have fun. I am ambitious and like to be a productive role model with a strong energetic will and positive influence into kid's lives. I can be a friend and a big sister but first my job is to be professional, keep kids safe, and maintain a environment that stimulates kids to learn and grow in the world and be their best selves.

My over all answer about why I want to work and care for children is cheesy, I want to change the world, and if I can shape even just one child into a confident, polite, young learner I have set them up to continue to change the world, and that gives my life meaning.

On request I can provide references and letters of recommendation from family's I have babysat for, my supervisor from ODS, and teachers I have mentored for.
