  About Me

My mission is to offer the best quality care I can provide to your child. I am a 24-year-old mother with a wonderful 3-year-old boy. I have been nanning since he was a baby so that I could be with him during the day, and go to school at night to become a nutritionist. So needless to say, health is a big issue with me. I don't believe in feeding children anything that doesn't have some sort of nutritional value. Good nutrition is the core to how your child behaves and develops. My goal is to make sure they are eating the best foods to ensure that they are learning and growing properly. I will always have your child's best interest in mind. I like to engage in educational, yet at the same time fun, learning activities and games. We love to be outdoors as much as possible playing sports, walking, and just enjoying being a kid. I love to have FUN. And I love that my job allows me to do that everyday. I like to encourage children to be who they are, yet guide them in the right direction when their actions are not appropriate. I believe in teaching them the right way, instead of just saying "no"all the time. And I am extremely consistent. I can be a "drill sergeant" when I need to be. I strongly believe that the most important tool in childcare is trust. Being a mother myself, I know how difficult it can be to find someone that you can entrust your children with. I strive to make sure that the child and the parents feel safe by establishing a routine, having boundaries and using positive discipline. Discipline is not defined here as punishment but as an opportunity for learning.

Rachael's Rules: Safety First
Use your words
Be kind
Be respectful
Keep all body parts
to yourself
Use good manners

I believe that communication between the child care provider and the families is necessary for providing the best care possible for children. Communciation is a vital part of providing quality child care. When we work together the children get the best of both worlds. And parents get peace of mind knowing that their child is being well cared for. Through communication and consistency of teamwork between the parents and the child care provider, together we can provide the best today.

I believe that children should be guided through love and respect with age appropriate discipline. They should have opportunities to explore the world around them. I believe children should be encouraged to try new things whether it is a new food or new activity. Children should be cared for in an environment that is safe and an atmosphere they can feel comfortable in.
