| I am usually quiet and low-key but very responsible, dependable and determined. I love children and love working with them and feel that I "get" them. I am not overbearing and I usually let shy children come to me when they are ready(having been a shy child myself, I know what it's like. ) I have always been interested in child development and child psychology and while I haven't formally studied it, have done a lot of reading and research on my own and have as a result developed some pretty fool-proof methods of dealing with children. I believe in limits, boundaries, and consistency. I am fairly old-fashioned in my childcare style, believing that the adult is in charge and is to be respected at all times. I also believe that respect has to be earned and also reciprocated. I respect the children I keep and don't talk down to them. I like to maintain a companionable rapport while keeping a firm grasp on things. |
