  About Me

I am interested in employment as a child care provider/educator/nanny. I look at the work of a nanny as an opportunity to teach children in one-on-one environments to prepare them for life and for school. I take many things into account when thinking about where I would like to work. My goal is to find a family that holds strong educative and child development values, uses open communication and, most importantly believes in supporting an environment that stimulates learning and growth for their children. I have many interests, and feel they could be carried over into my work as tools in engaging children in learning. Some interests include travel, cooking, reading and being outdoors. I plan to use my educative, work, and life experiences to be the most effective child care provider, teacher, and role model I can be. I am energetic, nurturing, patient and consistent when working with children. I am sensitive to the child’s background and culture, different needs and learning styles. I use a hands-on approach often and use the home and neighboring environment as a teaching tool. As an educator and nanny I strive to empower, enrich and enlighten the children who are in my care. Each child I have worked with I have bonded with in some way, and the feelings seem mutual.

For many years, working with children has been something I have been passionate about and dedicated to. I have a wide range of work experience with children from teaching a self-contained class to working in homes one-on-one with youth. I have had experience in public and private school settings, after-school programs and in-home work with a range of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. I have worked as a full-time nanny for three families with newborns and numerous families with infants, toddlers and school-aged children.

Childcare experience within the following age groups:
Newborn - 3 months, 3 - 12 months, 1 - 2 years, 2 - 5 years, 5 - 10 years, over 10 years of age, special needs children, twins, triplets
Education/Training:
Bachelor's Degree, CA Multiple Subject Teaching Credential
I have completed 20+ units in Early Childhood Development, a B. S. of Psychology, and a CA Elementary Teaching Credential. I have been fortunate to be provided with excellent workshops and trainings related to working with children, and have provided parents with information regarding child-rearing and development.
