  About Me

Hello. My name is Jennifer. I have grown up with children all my life. My mother ran a home daycare since I was born. As I grew a little older, I began to help out with the kids. As a teenager, I became her assistant (paid weekly). This is when I started my babysitting jobs, which eventually turned more professional when I began to nanny children. I enjoy children immensely and I love being around them. Most kids have a GREAT sense of humor and can almost always make me laugh. I can make sure your kids are well cared for and loved. I can make sure they always have a great time when they're with me, yet they'll know who's boss. In general, I believe that I am the best Nanny for your children. I always make sure children are safe, happy, secure, and disciplined. For discipline, I believe in using the time-out method. I give warnings, appropriate to incident and age and then enforce a time-out for the amount equal to age, for example, 3 years-old gets 3 minutes. I also believe that discipline should be handled in a manner that allows children to keep their dignity and self-worth in tact. I do expect manners to be used when necessary and will hold myself to the same expectations, (Please, Thank you, and Excuse me).
As children get older, I believe in consequences that fit the action. I believe the only effective discipline is to be consistent. In order for children to grow and prosper they need a lot of love and attention. The goal should always be to use positive energy whenever possible. Such as, pointing out how proud you are of them even for the smallest of accomplished tasks.

  Work Experience & Education Background

7 years experience, 4 references
I have plenty of childcare experience in all ages. During high school, I have taken several childcare/parenting classes and a couple childcare classes in my first year of college. I was an assistant in a home daycare for 4 years while holding various babysitting jobs. I volunteered at 2 different church nurseries and an assistant teacher at one of them for a second grade Sunday school class. I was just recently a Nanny in a previous job from Aug-2008 to Feb-2009 and a temporary nanny for two weeks with a 6 year old, a 7 year old(ADHD) and an 8 year old. I am CPR / First Aid Certified, and I did well in school with mostly A's. I could help out with schoolwork and tutoring with your children and since your children are young, if they are not reading yet, I could start that learning progress and make it fun for them.
