I do not miss work unless I am too sick to get out of bed. While at work, I would be completely involved with the children during my entire shift. The children would get my undivided attention. During my shift, I would do all of the duties that the family requests. I am an easygoing and fun loving person. I am firm and believe in discipline. However, I do not use time out unless it is the very last resort. My philosophy is to get down to the child’s level for discipline. I do not yell. I talk with the child not at the child. I get down to their level and I explain what they did was wrong and why. I believe it is pointless to discipline a child if that child does not understand the why he or she is being disciplined. When I discipline, I use redirection.
As a nanny, I would be able to build a bond with the child/children. I would be able to watch the child/children grow. I would also be able to build a bond with the whole family. I would be able to watch the child/children learn.
I am kind, warm, loving, easygoing, compassionate, and very patient especially with children. I love working with children. I love to get down on the floor and really interact with the children. I believe children learn through play. Besides interacting with the children, I take part in their play. I think that is part of interacting with children. I really enjoy teaching children new things. I think it is so rewarding to see how excited a child is when they figure something out for themselves. They get so excited.
I believe taking care of children involves teaching, nurturing, protecting and playing with children. I believe a person caring for children must also be connected to the children.
