| I am artistic with a strong love of music, poetry, drama and a strong interest in the creative process. One of the most fun things for me is working on an art project with the children I care for. I also love to read, so I enjoy reading books to them or having them read to me. I love to see the sparkle in a child's eyes when they discover something new or the joy at finding they can do something they thought they couldn't. In every child care position I have held, I have seen myself as in a partnership with the parents to help that child to grow physically, emotionally and cognitively. I am a nurturer and love to give lots of hugs and believe in positive reinforcement. I believe in getting children to stretch and grow. I use every opportunity to teach; whether pointing out the colors of the flowers while on a walk with a toddler or information about driving while taking a 14 year old to a friends house. I have a degree in education, both early childhood and elementary. For most of my adult life I have cared for children either as a teacher or nanny. I have cared for children from 6 weeks of age to 15 years old, by taking care of their physical, emotional and developmental needs. I view my position as nanny as a partnership with the parents in helping their children to grow. In addition to the care of the children, I have done light housework, family laundry, run errands, started dinner arranged for carpet cleaners, pest control, and repair people, as needed.
