  About Me

Hello there future family.

I am a very fun, outgoing person who really enjoys interacting with children of all ages. I love the outdoors, but I can also find fun things to do if stuck inside because of inclement weather. I love animals and have an 8 year old dachshund. She is very sweet once you get to know her and has really loved all the children I have taken care of. She has been with me since I had my very first nanny job.

I have extensive experience with children ranging in age from 3 months to 16 years old. I love teaching them new things and have really enjoyed the successes of toilet training 4 children. I have also experienced teaching 2 children how to ride a two wheeled bicycle.

I am looking forward to finding a wonderful family that matches my "parenting" style. I am willing to move for the right family.

I am in a loving comitted relationship of over 1 year, and enjoy spending time with my boyfriend. We enjoy being outdoors bicycling, hiking and going to classic car shows.

Get in touch with me, I have much more to say and lots to offer.

  Work Experience & Education Background

8 years experience, 4 references
Hi,

I have been a nanny for over 8 years. I have also taken Early

Childhood education classes and have an Associates of Arts degree,

which I earned at Dean college.

One of my most rewarding jobs was nannying for 2 girls living on Cape

Cod. They were ages 18 mos and 2 1/2 when I started. The youngest of

the 2 was born deaf. While working for the family I did a lot of

interacting with Early Intervention. The family and I learned a lot of

sign language to interact with Peyton. Several months after I worked

there Peyton's parents decided that they would go ahead with Cochlear

Implant surgery for her. After she got her implant I took her to her

weekly therapy lessons and learned right along side of her. There were

new techniques that we needed to use to communicate with Peyton. Soon

after she started going to school at an Oral School for the Deaf. It

was located in Canton Massachusetts. I drove Peyton from Brewster,

MA(on Cape Cod)to Canton, MA everyday. I often stayed to help out in

her class, I really loved learning about the speech pathology and new

ways to communicate with Peyton while she utilized her Cochlear

Implant. This was very rewarding to me and I will never forget this

time. I continued working for this family for 3 years, eventually I

felt that I needed to move off of Cape Cod.

I do a lot of fun activities with the children I take care of. I enjoy

being outdoors, so during the warmer months(and even in the winter)I

love to make up a picnic with the children and go to the playground.

We often can spend the whole morning there(until naptime usually). I

also really enjoy taking the children on outings. In the past families

I have worked for have had memberships to the zoo, museums, or aquariums.

Some of the children I have taken care of have also enjoyed going

shopping for their new summer wardrobes(or school clothes)with me too.

Basically, I enjoy getting out of the house. There are of course some

days when you are stuck in due to inclement weather or someone being

sick. On those day I have been known to build Lego towns or train

stations. I also enjoy crafts, baking or sometimes getting comfy on

the couch and watching a silly movie with the kids.

I currently live in Newport, RI with my boyfriend of over a year. I

have just finished up a position in Barrington, RI taking care of a

little boy, Walter. I worked for the family for a little over a year.

I started taking care of Walter when he was 4 months old.

I am in the process of buying a new car right now, so I will be coming

to my new position with a car. I prefer not to use my own car for

work, but am willing to work this out if absolutely necessary.

I have a safe driving record. I got my liscense when I was 19 years

old. I can drive a stick shift and I am very comfortable driving with

children(and can work all the fancy car seats. ).

I currently have a RI drivers liscense.

I am also looking for a long-term position(more than 2 years would be

great. )that is live-in. I have worked in the past for 2 families for 3

years each and other families for a year or a little more. I prefer to

stick around if everyone is happy.
