  About Me

Hi there well I am a native of South Africa and relocated to the States about a year and a half ago. I live with my family in Manhattan. I grew up in a small household but my extended family is large and relatively close knit. Me and mother are particularly close and share a very special bond. I think the best attribute I have is that I am a hard worker whose honest and dedicated. I am passionate, caring and have a bubbly personality. I am focused and ambitious but above all I have alot of love to give. I have varied interests so in my spare time you may find me doing some reading, writing a bit (I dabbled in some creative writing and I occasionally write some poetry), attending the theatre ( I did a lot of musicals during high school and in college), wanting to travel, cooking or staring into an aviation magazine. My dislikes; I don't like it when people are not honest or are blatantly misleading. Likes; anything that is pink and happy.
Why do I want to be a nanny? Besides my love for children, I really want to further my experience working with children. I secretly joke that child-rearing runs in my blood as my mother is a teacher and my granmother a midwife. I enjoy spending time with children, helping them to learn and making them laugh. The job is rewarding, as you get to help a child take their "first steps" into the world. And it does have it challenges but you have to learn the child's personality and getting to know them is one of my favourite parts. Also teaching my kids their manners i. e P's and T's has been thus far very rewarding. Lastly I want to be able to teach a child some of my customs and traditions. Helping them to broaden their view of the world; children are usually more respective then adults.

  Work Experience & Education Background

1 years experience, 2 references
In my previous job I work as a nanny/housekeeper so I have become well acquainted with efficiently running as well as managing a household. I am primarily in charge of taking care of three children ranging from the ages of 3months-6yrs old from Mon-Friday and occasionally on some weekend. I arrange the children's play dates and after school activities and I ensure that during the school vacation they are engaged in educational activities. I also clean the house, do laundry, run errands and cook. I am looking into going to school during the weekends so this job would be perfect for me. I now occasionally care for a 2 and 3 year old boys. I generally come in and babysit them on afternoons/weekend nights. If I do have to babysit during the day then I would take them to the park, g o for walks or look for educational activities around the city and take them there.
