  About Me

I have been working with children for about 6 years now and I LOVE every bit of it. (YES. Even the screaming and yelling. )

I am CPR and first aid certified, able to swim, familiar with ASL, non-smoker, licensed with a car (Though if your car is up for grabs, I will take it. ) and can provide excellent references.

I am also attending Northeastern Illinois University with a current major in Education, which I truly feel enables me to understand and appreciate children even more. I am definitely an authoritative caregiver. I aim to teach the children I work with basics tie that shoe. cross the street only with an adult. 2+2 ???? to lessons that they can benefit from we don't tease. share. and so much more.

Manners are important so me, so most of the time I insist on please and thank yous. Speaking up. no yelling in the library. :)

I do not hit or spank the children I work with, instead I use the three strike system. Strikes are like baby warnings and if you get three, you get a time out. This obviously depends on the situation, but its pretty effective.

  Work Experience & Education Background

6 years experience, 3 references
I have been working with children for about six years now, starting as soon as the neighbors would allow. :)

I have been a FT nanny for about six months and am seeking a new job due to an out of state relocation by the family I currently work with. I have been working as a PT nanny (babysitter) for 6 years for a range of families.

As a nanny, I value spending time with the children, while also making sure your home is in good condition. I typically do the children's laundry, load the dishwasher after lunch and put the dishes away before the parents come home and clean up during the day. If there is a mess associated with the children, it will be clean before the day is done.

Childcare experience within the following age groups:
3 - 12 months, 1 - 2 years, 2 - 5 years, 5 - 10 years
Education/Training:
Graduated High School or Equivalent, College, College Child Education Courses, First Aid Training, CPR Training
I am currently a student at Northeastern Illinois University, majoring in Elementary Education. Though I am not 100% sure that I will continue on the road towards becoming a teacher, working with children is something I will undoubtedly do. I have taken many courses that enable me to understand children better; Child Psychology, Psychology, Child Studies, Educational Foundations, Human Behavior, etc. They have all been super informative from understanding why children take to learning so easily to having an idea of what kind of caregiver I should strive to be.
