  About Me

Full-Time, 10 + Years of Nanny Experience

Hi, my name is Tina. I am a 42-year-old mother of two children, ages 14 and 18. I have 31 years of childcare experience. I went to YSU and received an Associate's degree in childcare. I also received CPR, First Aid, and Communicable Disease certifications. Over the years I have worked at a day care, taught as a preschool teacher, and was both a live-in & live-out nanny. I am looking for a family that needs a professional nanny and quality childcare. I will work Monday through Friday. Weekends are a consideration. I run errands and do light housekeeping as well. I am passionate about what I do because I love caring for children. That's all I have ever done and that's what I am good at. I will consider being a live-in nanny for the right family.

  Work Experience & Education Background

10 years experience, 5 references
My nany duties
1. sterilizing bottles
2. making new bottles
3. unloading and loading the dishwasher
4. windexing the major kitchen appliances and every morning
5. sweeping the kitchen
6. making beds
7. vacuuming
8. cooking lunch and dinner
9. running errands, such as: Giant Eagle grocery shopping, picking up dry cleaning, mailing postal packages, making returns for things they bought on the weekend, etc.

I had a job right out of college for 3 years from 1990-1993. I worked for a single, corporate hospital attorney. She worked for Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. We lived in the north hills area of Pittsburgh and the father lived in Texas. The mother would fly out of state on business for 2 weeks at a time every other month. Also, I was home a lot with the children, 5 & 7 years old, because the mother worked long & late hours when she was in town. I was only 20, 21, & 22 but pretty much ran the entire house. My duties included.
1. getting the children up for school
2. making sure they were dressed properly, hair neat, & teeth brushed
3. making breakfast, packing lunches, & packing backpacks
4. putting fresh linens on the beds, all 3
5. keeping up with the family laundry, dishes, and general neatness of the house
6. helping with homework
7. cooking dinner
8. making sure the children had showers every night, including ears and nails (fingers and toes)
9. did grocery shopping, department store shopping for the children, called maintenance companies for work needed in the house, etc.
10. had the children both in bed by an appropriate bed time(whatever time the mother wanted).
11. attended school functions for the children, attended birthday parties with the children, picked up friends and had friends over (the children's', not mine), etc.
12. took the children for walks, bike rides, swimming, many parks and playgrounds, doctor well check ups & doctor sick visits
13. also; keeping a schedule for the cleaning lady

I am a very neat person. I write a lot of lists and some would say that I am too neat. But, the house would never be messy and everything would be kept up with. My job is to be there for the parents to help and make them feel at ease when they are at work. Also, for the parents to feel that the house and child/children are well taken care of. So, there is one less stress to worry about.
I am a parent as well of a 14-year-old son & 18-year-old daughter. My husband and I have been married for 16 years. Our life is very normal and an open book. My husband owns a mortgage company. He does loans and refinances homes. He coaches my son's football team every year & now coaches my daughter's volleyball team. We live in Uniontown, but right on the boarder of Hartville, by the Hartville Kitchen.
We first moved to this area this NE area, Stow/Cuyahoga Falls, 9 years ago. I ran an in home day care & after school care program. I became so close with some of these families that we are still invited to birthday parties and summer cookouts.
I would very much like the chance to meet with you and your family. That would give me a better idea of the job duties and personalities of the child/children. I always bring my references and any other papers needed.
I hope this helps you better understand what I am looking for in a job as well as my family life.
