  About Me

Hi my name is Jen and I am looking for some part time work doing something with children. I really love kids, have my own 11 year old daughter and am also a teacher. I have 20+ years working with kids. I started babysitting when I was 12 and then started working at summer camp when I was 14. I started off as a Counselor in Training and then at 16 years of age became a Camp Counselor. I did that for 2 years and when I turned 18 I got my Lifeguard certification. I worked as a lifeguard for 3 years and after that went into business for my self as a private swimming instructor.

To pay my way through college I was a nanny for 5 different kids. I started with one family who had 3 children, a 6 month old, 2 year old and 5 year old and was with them for 3 years. I also worked with another family who had a 2 year old and a 4 year old. I was also with them for 3 years.

I currently teach Speech and Debate at a private school part time and am looking for some part time hours in child care. My experience is with newborns through 12 years.

I have many talents and am a fun and responsible person. I am a non smoker, own my own car, am college educated and put my own priorities as a Mom first. I can tutor in most subjects, am very well rounded and also adventurous. I taught skydiving for 5 years and have been an avid SCUBA diver for 21 years. I also know how to make kids laugh and smile. I am a balloon artist and I sometimes volunteer my time making animal balloons to raise money for children with cancer.

I plan on returning to school to obtain my graduate degree in the Spring 2013 for my Masters in Biology. I then plan to teach at the community college level and hope to open my own summer camp business in the next year or two.
