Summer is the best time to nanny since the children are fresh and excited for a new season. I started babysitting when I was ten for families from church and my neighborhood. When I graduated high school I worked as a nanny before I moved to college. While in college I worked a few different nanny jobs of which I got much experience. My first job was for three children which included a two-year old toddler and his twin 3 month old siblings. The next position was also for three children with the ages of 11, 9, and 5. The last few months of college I worked with a one-year old toddler who had developmental delays (Kabuki Syndrome). This was a great challenge as I had to teach her how to sit, pull herself up, stand, walk, and also fine motor skill development. My last nanny job was last summer in which I watched a six month old premature baby forty hours a week.

I attended a school in Central California and graduated with my degree in Communicative Disorders (Interpreting for the Deaf) last Spring. Instead of interpreting this year I accepted a job as a Teacher's Aide and Substitute which I LOVE. I work with one kingergarten class for 4 hours every day and then two third grade classes every afternoon. If I am substituting I work with a variety of ages from kindergarten through high school.
I am currently awaiting a teaching position at a private school for next fall which is why I can only commit to a summer position at this time. |
