Last summer, I took a six week internship working for a child sponsorship program in Ethiopia. Daily tasks included teaching children English, feeding them snacks, visiting children in their homes and providing families with essentials, engaging the children in active play, and most of all providing lots of love. I have also provided occasional care, sometimes one or two days at a time, for my now six year old nephew since he was a baby. This has taught me a lot about the everyday needs of children.
