My name is Meghan. I am an experienced babysitter of 7 years. I have babysat for many different families with children of all different ages ranging from infants to teenagers. I have worked with many children with special needs such as Autism, Rett Syndrome, Down Syndrome, ADHD, OCD and emotional/behavioral issues. I am a sophomore at Wheelock College and my major is Human Development and Special Education. I currently am a team leader at an Americorps program called Jumpstart. This entails working with a network of volunteers who provide individualized attention and positive adult-child relationships to prepare children attending preschool in low-income neighborhoods for school success. I have received intensive training and professional development in early childhood theory and practice, language and literacy development, leadership skills, and communication with families. I also have been a part of the Best Buddies organization for four years now which involves being paired with a special needs child or adult and forming a positive relationship. I am very active and love to keep the children I work with as engaged as possible. I also love to organize. |
