  About Me

My aim and future objective would be to work as a care giver where my strength and talents working with children can be used positively to help children develop to their best potential. I would love to continue to grow in my experience in working with children with dedication, sincerity, and honesty. Ultimately enjoying and loving the work I do taking care of children in all circumstances while instigating good morals and principles. I would also aim to trustfully coordinate and communicate with the children's parents. I am the oldest sister of 4, having had lots of experience babysitting my little sisters while growing up and being a good role model for them. I also have a lot of experience babysitting many of my cousins of all ages. I am the oldest cousin of over 30 cousins on both sides of my family. I attended the University of Northern Iowa on an academic scholarship to pursue a major in Elementary Education. I am both CPR and First Aid Certified. I have many years of field experience in various elementary schools working with children both one on one and also in groups, reading to them, learning letters and numbers, school projects etc. I have also worked in a preschool for 2 years working as a teacher's aide and also working one on one with special needs students. I assisted with helping preschoolers learning to write their name, recognize letters and numbers, reading stories, playing games, learning colors, numbers, and letters. I assisted the children in preparing snacks and counting out portions. Assisted them in learning new songs and dances. Assisted in various lesson plans throughout the years. I have a lot of experience tutoring elementary students in both reading and math for many years. I have also coached 12 and under club volleyball for 2 years. I have 2 years of experience working as a nanny. I was responsible for caring for their 2-year-old boy and then left the family when she had her second baby and became a stay at home mom. I kept the 2-year-old entertained throughout the day, going to museums, parks, playing ball, running around, swimming, play dates, etc. I also worked on practicing his numbers, letters, and doing lots of arts and crafts with him in an educational yet fun way of learning. I cleaned, organized, and kept the house in tip top shape. Did all of the grocery shopping as well as the cooking and preparing of meals. I also ran various errands for the family when needed. I did most of the 2-year-olds clothes and shoes shopping. I did all of their laundry and made their beds. I have always loved working with children and would love to be able to use my experience, skills, and passion for children to help a loving family. I am very positive, upbeat, caring, and energetic. I would love to talk with you further to see if we'd make a good fit. :)
