  About Me

I recently relocated to Chicago from Austin, TX and love it here so far.
I have worked with youth in varying capacities for the last 10+ years. In Austin, I worked in public schools teaching decision making and communication skills to middle and elementary school children. I also directed an after school and summer program for 6-12 year olds. I love coming up with fun, creative, and educational activities to keep kids engaged.
I currently volunteer as a tutor here in Chicago, so that is another interest of mine.
In my free time I love to travel, read, and explore Chicago. I am also working to fix up an old house my fiancé and I just purchased in Logan Square, which is a project, but fun.

I have experience as an educator in public schools working with 4th-8th graders. I taught classes on decision making, communication, conflict resolution, self image, and more.

I also have experience as Director of an after school and summer program serving 6-12 year olds. Through this I became accustomed to creating fun, engaging, and educational activities for youth.

I also volunteer as a tutor here in Chicago for elementary students, and enjoy helping students in this capacity.

I have been a babysitter off and on since my teen years, and feel comfortable communicating with parents about their children's specific needs and routines and providing care which is consistent with that.
