My name is Tahkyra. I am 18 years old and I am a high school graduate. I currently work as a nanny watching a 5 year old part time when parents need me. I have been with them since the child was born. I also watched several other children over the years. I love kids and they always take well to me. I worked in a summer camp, where I assisted with children 4 and 8-years-old. I have assisted children with homework, served food and snacks to children, and assisted children in indoor and outdoor activities. I am passionate about working with kids because I believe that kids are full of innocence and love. They are easy to work with and to understand. They are also energetic and never boring. :) I have lots of experience and my references will only have good things to say. I am available on my cell phone. If I don't answer please leave me a message, thanks.
I began babysitting when I was 11 years old and cared for children in their home on a regular basis from that point through high school. After high school, I babysat every chance I got over the summers and missed spending time with children when I was bogged down with school work during the year. I have extensive experience babysitting children from 3 months to 12 years.
Besides babysitting, I have gained experience with children by teaching Sunday School to preschoolers and taking a Child Development class which ran a preschool within my high school. Following high school, I worked as a camp counselor for three summers at the local YMCA, working specifically with 7 to 10-year-olds. One summer I nannied an infant for several months.
After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh, I was a temporary nanny for a family in the Philadelphia area before moving to Europe for a few months.
Upon my return in January 2012, I became a full-time nanny for a family with a toddler and an infant. I am committed to them through August 24th, 2012. I have loved all of my child care experiences, particularly my latest as a full-time nanny, and would love to continue providing child care while in graduate school. At the end of August I am beginning a Master's program at Temple University, and am searching for a part-time nannying job in the city that fits with my evening class schedule. |
